About Blockchain

Months ago I started learning about Bitcoin and Blockchain. Though I tried to buy some bitcoins and operate thru the market with them, to be honest, there is still a long path to walk before its use is widespread.

Last weekend, I got to know that European Union is about to eliminate the use of 500€ notes. Though there are still a couple of years to go, I received the news both as a surprise and as a common-sense step forward.

I'm a firm believer in a cashless society and in the need to make the currency, exchange and trade markets as transparent as they may be.

As far as I've learnt, blockchain seems the right answer to that need. The technology platform, will allow with its open-source approach to create any kind of contract that allows for the creation of any financial instrument (be it as complex as any derivative can get, or as simple as buying an item online)

Since blockchain promises no intermediaries and third-parties between operations, it seems to have an answer to both the need for more transparency and efficiency in the markets.

Think just of a global ledger where all exchanges are registered and are available to anyone who wants to have a look!

Think of getting rid of commissions for once and for all.
